Explore Hiroshima / Hiroshima Peace Tourism
I worked with Original Inc., publisher of Time Out Tokyo, on this project for government body the Japan Tourism Agency (JTA). In-depth travel content introduces must-see Hiroshima locations, ranging from the ‘atomic bomb dome’ to an architecturally stunning waste incineration plant designed by Yoshio Taniguchi (and given screen time in the film adaptation of Haruki Murakami’s ‘Drive My Car’).
Under the banner of ‘Hiroshima Peace Tourism’, sites connected to Hiroshima’s experience of the world’s first atomic bombing are given a sensitive treatment underscoring their pertinence to ongoing campaigns for nuclear disarmament. This was facilitated by dialogue with local experts, including members of pacifist groups.
