The New Japanese Home (WGSN report)
Report for leading global trend forecaster WGSN, looking at how the residences of today’s ultra-high-density Japanese cities hint at near-future trends in the home and interiors sector worldwide. Giving short shrift to the misconception of the typical Japanese home embodying Muji catalogue-style minimalism, I instead show how demographic and socio-economic currents; urban development; cultural attitudes; and especially spatial limitations are shaping the 21st century Japanese home.
